Rosamund and Douglas Barteau welcome you to this wonderful home. Complete with an indoor pool, an outdoor hot tub, and rooms themed from the BBC program Poldark (the program was written and created by Rosamund's father who also wrote the book that the Hitchcock movie "Marnie" was based on). In honour of her parents, Abbotswood House was named after the family home in England. Each of the bedrooms acknowledges the main characters of the Poldark novels: The Poldark Suite, Ross, Demelza, and Warleggan. Whether you are coming to the Pacific Northwest for the Bloomsday race in Spokane, the County Fair in Hayden, or any of the many arts events in Coeur d'Alene, the Abbotswood House is your dream home away from home. We are the only bed and breakfast with an indoor pool in this part of the world (maybe the whole world).

When you stay at Abbotswood House Bed and Breakfast you will be treated  to a classic traditional English breakfast each morning. Always included are fresh hot coffee, classic teas, fresh fruit, hot or cold cereals, warm baked goods, and eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes and tomatoes. From time to time we will try to offer seasonal faire as well. Afternoon "cream tea" is available upon upon request with reservation.

Each room includes:

  • Gas fireplace in each room.
  • An indoor pool is available year round, and there's even a large screen TV out by the pool!
  • Pool hall with regulation size billiard table, a large screen TV and a baby grand piano.
  • Discounts for theater, lake cruises and much more...

Located in a quiet community, in a forest-like setting, just a short drive from downtown Coeur d'Alene. See our web site for map and driving directions.
